Letter of appreciation from the STEM Project Consultant

We're delighted to share a momentous occasion with you - the official opening of the state-of-the-art STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Centre at St. Benedict's College! This incredible achievement marks a new era in education for our Grade 6 students, empowering them with the skills and knowledge to thrive in the 21st century. 

To truly appreciate the significance of this milestone, we invite you to read the heartfelt letter below from Project Consultant Ranjith Dediwalage (Wajira), expressing his gratitude for the collective effort that made this dream a reality.  His words beautifully capture the dedication, vision, and unwavering support that have shaped this initiative.   

As you can see from Mr. Dediwalage's letter, the STEM Centre is more than just a facility; it's a platform for exploration, innovation, and problem-solving.  It's a place where our students can cultivate essential skills like critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and digital literacy.  By integrating STEM education with cutting-edge technologies like AI, robotics, renewable energy, and biotechnology, we're providing our students with an immersive learning experience that goes beyond traditional methods.    

We're incredibly excited about this new chapter and the opportunities it presents for our students.

Bens OBU Victoria contributed over 12,000 AUD worth of equipment including direct donations towards the STEM project and proceeds from the 2023 Dinner Dance.  The OBU committee in Victoria diligently worked with the team in Colombo on this project from March 2023 until January 2025 when it was launched.
